“This lamp was born from a high degree of simplicity and purity. It’s as if I had taken a flaming torch, which is actually the light, and I had placed it inside a support. But this wasn’t enough, and I saw that the torch could be doubled or tripled, so together with Flos we designed a support that could carry up to three torches. However, this torch with a very graceful light, a sort of large candle, was still missing something. I wanted a gentler light diffuser and so I put a glass sphere over it: the light is a torch encased in a sphere. The very materic cement base allows me to mount three lights. The ingenious thing is this socket which locks the light in place. You can buy just one torch at first and then add a second torch later.” Piero Lissoni
