2009
Piero Lissoni was commissioned to create a new design concept for the Benetton flagship store in Instabul when the brand entered the market. The work consisted of both exterior and interior design concepting and the resulting look was then executed in other flagship stores across Europe in cities including, Milan, Frankfurt, Paris and London. The building in Instabul features eight floors, five above ground and three below, and is configured to resemble a chest of irregularly stacked drawers. Metal and reinforced concrete were chosen for the construction because of their elasticity, while the external façade is made of a skin of steel.
