The "Bottiglia Masi" is born, designed by Piero Lissoni

This innovative project is based on an ethos of sustainable production to create a lightweight bottle that generates a “virtuous circle”: reducing the quantity of glass means reducing the quantity of raw materials and the amount of energy necessary for manufacture and transport. The Masi Bottle weighs 33% less than an average wine bottle.

“With this project, we chose to convey our great respect for wine and to give form to the beauty of a container that holds one of the world’s most precious liquids. The “Masi Bottle” was created around two elements: lightness and strength. We asked ourselves if it would be possible to reduce the quantity of glass so as to make it more efficient, finer and more delicate, without losing any of its strength. Thanks to its design, we managed to save a few hundred grams of glass for each bottle, which effectively reduces the quantity of energy needed for its manufacture and transport” P.L.
