The Ritz Carlton Residences
- Pompano Beach

2021-Ongoing

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, designed by Lissoni New York, comprises the interiors of two residential towers in Pompano Beach – one facing the ocean and the other the intracoastal. The design for the project maintains a cohesive visual language throughout both spaces but with each tower having its own unique character. The aim was to design environments that were comfortable and welcoming, sophisticated places for relaxation and socialization, introducing a new lifestyle opportunity for the area.

Both inside and outside, water is a central element that dialogues continually with the architecture, becoming a part of it and generating pathways and connections in the process. In the east tower, the connection to the ocean is amplified right from the entrance by large pools that flank the way to reception.

Pure lines and forms expressed through natural materials and light colors with touches of rich blue define the design of the east tower, while in the west, the hues are slightly darker. The inspiration for both buildings comes from the ocean and from the warm and Mediterranean atmosphere of yacht clubs, while the detailed and almost theatrical lighting design is also elemental in creating intimate and welcoming spaces. Large glazed volumes define the spaces and appear to bring the lush Caribbean nature indoors.

The landscape design is also closely tied to the local area and highlights native species that interplay with the clean and linear geometry of the hardscape, producing a twisting terrain which evokes forms of desert dunes.
